London’s New Year’s Eve celebrations returned to the public for the first time in two years, and it was a night to cherish.
Commissioned by the Mayor of London, the event was a spectacular display of light, colour, sound, and fireworks. The creative vision behind the event aimed to inspire joy and nostalgia by reflecting on key events of 2022 and celebrating new beginnings. The highlight of the night was the use of modern drone technology to pay tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II, honouring her service and King Charles III. The event also celebrated the Lionesses’ Euro 2022 victory, 50 years of London Pride, and showed solidarity with Ukraine.
The iconic London Eye was at the heart of the show, with industry-leading names in lighting, music, and pyrotechnics coming together to create an unforgettable experience. The soundtrack, inspired by the rhythm of the city, was carefully timed with the lightshow, showcasing globally recognised and emerging London talent. The music built up the suspense before the midnight moment, making it a truly unforgettable night.
