EPG joined operations for Expo 2030 Riyadh

EPG, an Identity Company, joined a 30-strong international consortium led by LAVA to deliver the Expo 2030 Riyadh Concept Masterplan, supporting the operations behind one of the most ambitious World Expos ever staged.

EPG I Event Planning Group, an Identity Company, joined the international consortium delivering the Expo 2030 Riyadh Concept Masterplan.

The consortium was led by LAVA (Laboratory for Visionary Architecture) as lead consultant, architect and concept master planner. LAVA were appointment as Custodian of the masterplan in August 2026. That appointment came after the project’s BETTER FUTURE World Design Awards 2026 Gold recognition.

Expo 2030 Riyadh will run from 1 October 2030 to 31 March 2031, hosted in Riyadh under the theme “Foresight for Tomorrow.” Vision and ambition are one part of the story. Delivering it on the ground is another.

That is where EPG’s role sat. Operations is the discipline that turns a masterplan into a working Expo: the systems, logistics and coordination that let millions of visits happen safely, day after day, for six months straight. It is not the headline discipline in a project like this, but it is the one everything else depends on.

EPG joined 30 specialist firms in the consortium, each responsible for a distinct part of the project, from hydrology and climate engineering to mobility, lighting and exhibition design.

Lasting legacy as ‘Global Village’

The masterplan reimagines the site around the reactivated Wadi Al Sulai, replacing a conventional grid with a radial design that connects five districts along the World Avenue Loop. Legacy is built into the plan from the start: once the Expo closes, the site will live on permanently as the “Global Village,” carrying its energy and purpose forward as a lasting legacy for Riyadh long after the event itself has ended.

EPG’s involvement places Identity’s operational expertise inside one of the most significant World Expo programmes to date, delivering at a scale and complexity few organisations are equipped to handle.

Andrew Sharp, CEO, EPG, said: “We’ve been delighted to be part of a consortium of this calibre. Our approach on projects like this starts with the same question every time: what does day one, day sixty and day one hundred and eighty all need to look like, before a single visitor arrives. Operations only works when it’s built in from the start, not added once the design is finished. That’s the discipline we bring to Expo 2030, and it’s the same approach we apply on every project, whatever the scale.”
